Summary of Position

As part of the pastoral team, the Connections Pastor will lead, oversee and minister to the leaders in the Outreach, Discipleship & Media ministries. However, since specific ministry assignments may change over time, MCC seeks a candidate who thrives in managing ambiguity, and is able to build effective teams and lead them to innovate. S/he will be responsible for positioning leaders to align and implement MCC’s mission and vision through their ministries, and therefore, must have a proven track record of performance and success in a previous Seventh-Day Adventist pastoral position.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead the Outreach, Discipleship and Media ministries

• Providing ongoing coaching and professional development to ministry leaders
• Collaborate with ministry leaders to align their directives and activities to MCC’s vision and mission
• Create systems and methods to drive greater efficiency in goal execution
• Recruit and hire additional staff and volunteers, as needed
• Collaborate with ministry leaders to develop and execute strategies for expanding the number of members in each ministry
• Mediate and resolve conflicts amongst leadership staff and ministry members
• Identify and track key data points and metrics to monitor each ministry’s growth
• Collaborate with ministry leaders to develop and monitor each ministry’s operating budget and fundraising efforts

• Participate in regular leadership team meetings, staff and church board meetings

• Collaborate with pastoral team to create and implement church policies and procedures

• Identify, train and develop emerging leaders within the church community

• Nurture relationships with, and provide pastoral care to, all members of church community

• Engage in regular church functions including retreats, trainings, community events, service projects, etc.

• Perform weddings, baptisms, and other functions, as needed

• Develop sermons and preach, lead small groups, and teach bible study classes, as needed

• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum of three to five years of full-time ministry experience required

• Experience with supervising and training a team of church leaders preferred

• Experience in collaborating with or supporting outreach, discipleship and media ministries preferred

• Verified Volunteer Clearance

• Practicing member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

• Experience with gift-based ministry preferred

• Desire to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment

• Great communication and interpersonal skills

• Self-starter and goal driven with a strong work ethic
